In the Gölbaşı town and Oduncular village of the Güroymak district of Bitlis, streams overflowed due to heavy rainfall, and some agricultural lands were damaged. Gölbaşı Municipality teams started cleaning work in the damaged area.
Gölbaşı Mayor Hikmet Kardaş said,The roads, sewerage networks, drinking water lines, culverts and bridges in our town suffered great damage. Our municipality is in a position where it cannot compensate for this damage with limited resources. Every year, our town suffers damage due to these flood disasters. However, this time our infrastructure was also severely damaged. It is pleasing that there was no loss of life in the flood.” he said.
Oduncular village headman Sani Gökmen said that flooding occurred after the heavy rainfall at noon. Stating that there was no loss of life or property, Gökmen said, “The drinking water and sewage infrastructure in the village was damaged. Stones and soil came into the village due to the flood. Our citizens are victims” he said.
