As singer PSY’s ‘Soaked Show’ concert was canceled due to heavy rain, Gwacheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 20th that it implemented safety measures to ensure the safe return of the audience.
According to the city and concert organizers, ‘Psy’s Drenched Show SUMMER SWAG 2024’ was held at the parking lot of Seoul Grand Park in Gwacheon City from 6 PM on that day, but was stopped after only an hour due to heavy rain and lightning.
When the organizers decided to cancel the performance for safety reasons, Gwacheon Mayor Shin Kye-yong, along with heads of relevant departments, immediately took action to help the audience return home.
There were about 25,000 fans and Gwacheon citizens who were hired as part-time workers at the scene, but they were all confirmed to be safe. The city worked closely with the police and fire department to guide citizens and other spectators to subway stations and other places so that they could safely return home.
City officials said, “We have been closely monitoring the situation due to the recent continuous heavy rain and took preemptive measures to ensure that both visitors and part-time workers were able to return home from the scene without any casualties.”
The Psy Drenched Show, which will be held at Seoul Grand Park in Gwacheon, is scheduled to run until the 21st, and the city is planning to implement safety measures in preparation for any eventuality.
