Helena Ahti-Hallberg and his spouse Eric Hallberg have been renovating their home in Spain for quite some time now. The house is located in Ontinyenti, right in the heart of the old town. Helena has already stated that the house needs a lot of renovation. At first they lived in an Airbnb apartment, but now they have moved into a house they bought.

However, not everything has gone according to schedule. The lack of electricity has kept the house cool. Helena tells about it in her update on Instagram.

– The lantern on the wall of our house illuminates the road beautifully. And at the same time gives a false picture of our electricity situation. It takes about 2-3 months before the lamps are lit inside this house, says Helena Ahti-Hallberg in her update on Instagram.

– Fortunately, the water is heated with gas, and with a gas heater, even the bedroom is tolerable. I’ve always been of the opinion that the temperature is a matter of clothing. Put on enough layers of clothes and you’ll be fine.

Due to the lack of electricity, even taking a shower requires your own ingenuity.

– My problems only start when I take a shower. Now I found a solution for that too, I washed my hair first and only then jumped completely into the shower, much more tolerable. So I don’t understand the beauty of swimming in the open at all, I’m a real wild cat.

Renovation and cleaning

Building the house continues at a good pace in Spain.

– Today I have continued emptying the cupboards and I think it will take a couple more days. Today’s treasures were old fashion magazines, what wonderful pictures of wonderful outfits.
The research journey continues.

Helena has commendably reported on the various situations she has encountered. They traveled to Spain to repair the house they bought during Christmas.

Earlier, he talked about his cleaning job.

– Today I was satisfied that I got the bedroom clean and the landfill scraps out of the hallway. We have to wait a week again for the next loads to be taken to the landfill, but now it already feels like we are gradually getting rid of the waste. Tomorrow is an exciting day.

It has taken time to clear the space, as 426 square meters have taken a moment to empty. The house has been full of old things. A large load of goods has also arrived from Finland. Helena has said that she started packing already five months before the trip.

They have done the renovation diligently and taken the remnants of the old house to the landfill.

– There was another challenge at the landfill. Stoneware can only be brought in twice a week, 500 kg at a time. We already have 3 walls demolished, I can tell you that it will take several weeks to properly get rid of the stone waste with these restrictions. Demolition of walls between 10 am and 3 pm was not the best for neighborly relations, the 91-year-old lady next door does not like the noise.
