Hellenic Rescue Days 2024 at the “headquarters” of the “Ekali-2000” Group of Volunteer Forest Firefighters Rescuers

The training event “Safe and effective use of rescue tools in traffic accidents” organized by the Volunteer Forest Firefighters Rescuers Group (OEDD – EKALI 2000) was attended by the Minister of Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias, on Saturday 11/16/2024.

Minister Vassilis Kikilias emphasized the importance of volunteering and social contribution in his post on social media, underlining that every citizen has the opportunity to contribute to environmental protection through participation in organized civil protection groups.

“The great action of the Group of Volunteer Forest Firefighters Rescuers (OEDD – EKALI 2000) cannot be captured through a few pictures. Pulse, courage, volunteering, selflessness, social contribution, are supreme values ​​that move us.

Today we attended the training event “Safe and effective use of rescue tools in traffic accidents”, during which experienced instructors, specialized in rescue tools and techniques, trained 160 people from voluntary civil protection groups.

In the educational event “RESCUE DAYS” organized by O.E.D.D. (Team “EKALI”), in collaboration with WEBER RESCUE SYSTEMS under the auspices of the Panhellenic Federation of Voluntary Organizations of Forest Protection and Fire Fighting, from November 15 to 17, more than 160 volunteers from all over Greece participated.

Experienced and specialized trainers showed the participants the modern rescue techniques and the correct use of the tools used in rescue operations in traffic accidents.

The training of the volunteers included practical and theoretical training, focusing on the correct use of rescue tools, the methods of safe extrication of victims, as well as the management of dangerous situations that arise during traffic accidents.

Such initiatives strengthen the cooperation between the competent bodies and voluntary organizations, creating a network ready to respond to the needs of citizens in emergency situations.
