Today, Auto Plus is at the Paris Motor Show to introduce you to an SUV with an innovative style: the Citroën C5 Aircross Concept.
Presented as a world premiere, this concept embodies the vision of Citroën for the future of the C segmentand gives us a taste of what awaits us in 2025 for the new generation of the C5 Aircross.
Citroën C5 Aircross Concept: the exterior
Design speaking, this C5 Aircross Concept impresses with its muscular and assertive design. It is true that it offers imposing proportions since it measures 4.65 meters long and 1.66 meters high. On this very angular front, its lines express a real feeling of power. You have a light signature three-point, characteristic of the latest models from Citroën. Taken from the old version, it is these two blades on the grille which connect the two headlights together. In the center of the latter, the brand’s new logo with chevrons proudly sits. Finally, on the front, you also have these two huge air intakes at each end of the grille.
In profile, we can see the proportions of the old C5 Aircross quite well. Despite its imposing appearance, the profile of the C5 Aircross Concept also offers dynamismincluding a black part on the rear quarter. A piece that can also be found on the older generation C5 Aircross.
At the rear, the design also changes. The roof is inclined for better aerodynamics. You have these rear lights named by the brand “Citroen Light Wing” which add an innovative touch. Uh also participates in all the aero work that was done on the body.
Thanks to this work on the aerodynamics of the car, this SUV would have won up to 30 km of additional range in electric version, according to Citroën.
Little information regarding the interior
Ce C5 Aircross Concept based on the new platform STLA Medium from Stellantis, which allows the integration of motors thermal, hybrid et 100% electric. A good thing as the market is still torn between different modes of propulsion. According to Stellantis and the chevron brand, this new platform also offers excellent habitability to the model that uses it. Citroën promises a exceptional comfort and cutting-edge connectivity on board of the next C5 Aircross. What is certain is that we can trust Citroën in the area of occupant comfort. For the rest, we will wait to see what the next C5 Aircross offers us.
Still at the concept stage, we do not yet have information regarding the engines that will equip the next C5 Aircross. In all likelihood, it should inherit the electric, simple hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines from the Peugeot 3008. We look forward to discovering it in its final version from 2025.
