LADIES engaged in food production in the countryside will be able to apply for grants provided by the Ministry of Economy until September 10. The total money available for the implementation of the program is 30 million dinars and is intended for financing the purchase of new equipment and raw materials.
This competition was announced as part of the Support Program for the development of women’s entrepreneurship in the countryside this year. We are talking about money that is available to micro-enterprises whose founder and legal representative is a woman, and to entrepreneurs who are engaged in the production of food products and carry out their activities in rural areas.
– Grants are approved in the amount of 100 percent of the value of the investment, in the range of 300,000 to 500,000 dinars – it is stated in the public invitation. – The general goal of the Program is to encourage the development of female entrepreneurship in rural areas and sustainable economic development, as well as encouraging employment in rural areas of the country.
Possible rejection
The GRANTS COMMISSION reserves the right, after verification, to pass a decision on the rejection of the request in case of doubts about the credibility of the documentation, the reputational risk of the business entity, as well as the suspicion that the equipment is being procured for the purpose of speculative actions, and not to achieve the specific goals of the Program.
As stated in the tender documentation, if the value of the investment is greater than the maximum amount of the grant, the entrepreneur will be able to provide the difference up to the full value of the investment from her own funds. In case the user finances the purchase of the equipment himself, he is obliged to pay his money to the supplier first. Only after that, with proof of payment, will the subsidy be paid.
– Existing entrepreneurs and micro-businesses whose founder, legal representative, other representative and manager are women, who are registered with the Agency for Business Registers no later than December 31, 2023, and whose business activity is the right to apply for the competition for the allocation of money for the implementation of which the funds are requested, are carried out in the rural area. In a company with several founders, the minimum share, which must be owned by one or more women, is 50 percent – they are specified by the relevant ministry.
Customs, administrative and transport costs, forwarding, storage, refund of funds for already purchased equipment and raw materials, loans and loan repayment installments cannot be settled from the money received at the competition. Also, the subsidy cannot be used for the purchase of hand tools or vehicles.
