The reasons behind the calendar change
This change suggests that Samsung wants to gain a competitive advantage by taking advantage of the company’s presence in the US market.
Also, the January event could precede the debut of the iPhone 17, the main rival of the series, by a week.
Design and performance improvements
Although Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the technical specifications of the new Galaxy S25 series, numerous information from credible sources have already been revealed.
Improvements include a more clearly contoured and ergonomic look.
The S25 Ultra will adopt a more rounded look, with more defined corners and a slimmer profile, but keeping the overall dimensions.
The screens will benefit from a reduction in bezels, ensuring a more generous display surface.
Camera system
We will also witness an upgrade on the camera side: the main one will integrate a 50-megapixel sensor with 3x optical zoom and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens.
Although there are some uncertainties regarding the processor, it seems that Samsung will opt for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset instead of the Exynos.
A rival for the iPhone 17 Air
In addition to the S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra models, it seems that Samsung is preparing a surprise: the S25 Slim model, a premium alternative for those looking for a more compact phone.
It does not exceed the thickness of 6mm and could compete directly with the iPhone 17 Air. It is expected to be much more affordable.
Availability of the new series
Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S25 could start as early as January 5, 2025.
