Hezbollah launches over 300 rockets at Israel

Israel and Hezbollah continue to direct major attacks against each other.

On Saturday evening, Israel’s military says that the militant movement Hezbollah in Lebanon has sent 320 rockets at Israel throughout the day.

The military did not provide further details.

But several areas around some of the cities in northern Israel have been declared closed to the public.

Israel’s military has not stood idly by.

The AFP news agency quoted the Israeli Air Force as saying it had hit “around 280 terrorist targets” belonging to both Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

– Among these targets are underground terrorist infrastructure, facilities to store weapons, military command centers, terrorist cells and additional sites of terrorist infrastructure.

On Saturday, Israel’s military also ordered 23 southern Lebanese villages evacuated.

The villages are areas that have recently been the target of Israeli attacks. Several of the towns are already almost empty of local residents.

Israel says the evacuations are necessary for the safety of its residents. According to Israel, Hezbollah uses the cities to hide weapons and to fire rockets at Israel.

In France, President Emmanuel Macron calls on Hezbollah to stop firing rockets at Israel.

France is a former colonial power in Lebanon, which gained its independence in 1943.

– A cease-fire must be implemented in Lebanon immediately, says Macron during talks with Nabih Berri, president of Lebanon’s parliament.
