Hideo Kojima makes this sad announcement about his next license

Announced at the start of 2024, Physint was to mark Kojima’s return to the stealth action genre. This news excited fans, especially since the project is supported by a collaboration with PlayStation. But the video game creator recently shared an update that will disappoint many.

Casting was delayed by the SAG-AFTRA strike

Indeed, Physintits next game and spiritual successor to Metal Gear Solidseems still very far from its release. This long-awaited project has already encountered significant obstacles, including delays caused by external factors.

However, Kojima clarified that Physint would not be his priority until he had completed two other major projects: Death Stranding 2: On the Beachplanned for 2025 and OFa horror game developed with Xbox. Despite this busy roadmap, Kojima revealed that Physint had already reached an important milestone this year: the start of the casting process.

However, in a post on X, Kojima explained that casting, as well as scanning and filming sessions, were suspended due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

In the second half of the year, scanning and filming were suspended due to the strike. The casting of Physint was also cut. We hope to resume next year.

This announcement is enough to frustrate fans. With a project still at an early stage of development, these delays risk push back a possible release date even further.

Delayed release for Physint

No release before 2030

According to estimates, Physint does not should not see the light of day before 2030or even later. Still, Kojima chose to start casting now. This strategy seems linked to his habit of collaborate with Hollywood actors. By moving the process forward, he hopes to free up time in their busy schedules.

For impatient fans, the disappointment doesn’t end there. Kojima hinted that no trailer or teaser for Physint would not be published before several years. In the meantime, attention remains focused on Death Stranding 2dont the release is planned for PS5 in 2025.
