Wheat continues to follow corn, but does not overtake it

For the fourth week in a row, the corn market recorded the most activity. During the entire week, an increased supply compared to demand was noticeable. As in the previous period, the offer was mostly corn without analysis for aflatoxin, while buyers were mainly interested in corn with analysis, which, along with the difference in the parities of offered and requested goods, made it difficult to conclude exchange contracts. Exporters’ interest in this cereal was also present this week.

Exchange contracts for corn were concluded in a wide price range from 19.30 to 20.40 dinars/kg without VAT, depending on the aflatoxin analysis and parity. The weighted price was 19.68 din/kg without VAT (21.65 din/kg with VAT), so compared to the previous week, a slight price increase of 0.29% was noticeable. Corn was also traded at the CPT buyer parity at a price of 20.00 to 20.20 din/kg without VAT, as well as at the CPT port parity at a single price level of 20.50 din/kg without VAT. This week, corn accounted for as much as 78% of the total weekly turnover with 2,125.00 tons of goods traded.

When it comes to wheat, supply exceeded demand throughout the week. However, its activity on this market was reduced compared to seven days earlier. Wheat with 11.5% protein was traded at a price of 22.30 din/kg without VAT. At the same time, wheat with 12% protein was sold at a price of 23.50 din/kg without VAT. The weighted price was 23.19 din/kg without VAT (25.51 din/kg with VAT). Therefore, this week there was a noticeable price increase of 5.45%.

Sunflower shot for the first time this year

The soybean market started the week quietly, and only in the middle of the week there was a slight increase in activity. Demand was slightly higher than supply, except for the last working day when there was no supply. Exchange contracts were concluded at the CPT buyer parity at a price of 57.50 to 57.70 dinars/kg excluding VAT with quality calculation, while there was no trading at the FCA parity.
