DAPURPACUID – PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI) officially launched the Hino Driving School program at GIIAS 2024, which is aimed at drivers from business actors.
This driving school aims to produce professional drivers with high competency standards for Hino customers and the Indonesian transportation industry as a whole.
HMSI Sales Director, Susilo Darmawan said, the job of driving buses and trucks is one of the vital jobs in the Indonesian transportation industry.
He admitted on the sidelines of the ICE BSD media meeting, Tangerang, Wednesday (24/7), that currently the transportation industry is experiencing a shortage of professional drivers who have formal knowledge and competence.
“Of course, this can result in decreased productivity, efficiency, and even road safety, which is acknowledged to be the case for many commercial vehicles,” he explained.
For that reason, Susilo continued, the program was launched in order to meet the needs of bus and truck fleet owners, while also creating the best competencies.
“Hino Driving School is here as a solution to overcome the shortage of professional drivers, by offering a complete and comprehensive curriculum designed to develop drivers with high competency standards,” explained Susilo.
The training method applied in the driving school is a combination of theory and practice, with a composition of 25 percent theory and 75 percent practice.
Practical training itself is scheduled not only during the day, but also at night and in emergency conditions.
The Hino Driving School curriculum includes Smart Driving such as safe and secure driving attitudes and behavior, traffic regulations and rules, vehicle technology and specifications.
There is also a curriculum for good and correct driving, daily checks, fuel-efficient driving, emergencies, and special regulations for transporting goods and people.
Hino Driving School is open to the public, companies, and Prakerja program participants. Participants must have a minimum of SIM A/BI that is still active for 1 year.
Hino, through the Hino Indonesia Academy, continues to provide training for drivers to improve awareness, attitude, knowledge, and skills in good, safe, and secure driving.
Pieter Andre, Training Division Head of HMSI explained that this program aims to solve customer problems regarding the shortage of drivers with complete competency standards.
“The launch of Hino Driving School is Hino Indonesia’s commitment to contribute to the development of a safe and efficient transportation industry in Indonesia.”
