(Health Korea News / Lee Chang-yong) The Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) will open a ‘correction service’ for public data on pharmaceutical and medical device expenditure reports from November 26.
In order to increase transparency in pharmaceutical and medical device transactions, HIRA has established an ‘expenditure report management system’ so that the results of coordination between providers and recipients of economic benefits permitted by law can be reflected in real time in public information. Companies will be able to accurately modify expenditure report information submitted through the system and monitor its history.
This service provides an opportunity to correct disclosed expenditure report data submitted by pharmaceutical and medical device companies in June and July prior to the first implementation of the expenditure report disclosure system scheduled for December, and to submit disclosed data. We will allow companies that were unable to do so to submit additional submissions to lower the burden on the industry and disclose accurate information to the public.
To help companies use the service more easily and conveniently, we plan to produce an ‘Expenditure Report Correction Service Manual’ and post it in the ‘Expenditure Report Management System’ notices.
Director Soo-mi Soo of the Pharmaceutical Management Information Center said, “We decided to open the expenditure report correction service ahead of the original schedule to reduce the burden on the industry due to the first implementation of the expenditure report disclosure system to the public,” and “through continuous monitoring and quality management of open data. “We will do our best to disclose accurate expenditure report information to the public at the end of the year,” he said.
