His health condition remains critical

The health condition of the Archbishop of Albania Anastasios, who continues to be hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of the Evangelism, is considered to be critical, after the deterioration he experienced in the last 24 hours.

The last update from his treating doctors was on Sunday (5/1), in which his condition was also described as “critical”.

It is recalled that the Archbishop of Albania Anastasios was admitted to a Tirana hospital due to a virus that was bothering him on December 30. His health condition worsened and on January 3 it was deemed necessary to transfer him to Athens.

The first medical announcement issued on Sunday (5/1) by the “Evangelismos” hospital stated that “his health condition, despite his already burdened medical history, is considered stable and is being closely monitored by the Hospital’s medical team under the guidance of Pulmonology and Intensive Care Professor Ms. Anastasia Kotanidou. His Beatitude is undergoing the necessary medical examinations and receiving the appropriate care.”

Saturday’s medical announcement stated that “despite his burdensome medical history, his condition is considered stable and is being closely monitored by the hospital’s medical team, under the guidance of Professor of Pulmonology and Intensive Care, Ms. Anastasia Kotanidou”.

Mr. Anastasios was transferred, on December 30, to a Tirana hospital, with the posting on his social media account, talking about a virus that was bothering him. While he was hospitalized, he suffered a gastric hemorrhage and on January 3, it was decided to transfer him to the Evangelismos hospital, by airlift, carried out by the Greek Air Force, by an aircraft of the Greek Air Force.

It is noted that both the prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the Archbishop of Athens, Ieronymos, were present at the Evangelismos and were informed about the progress of the Archbishop of Albania’s health.
