His vulgar and inappropriate pun on Angela Merkel

The American billionaire and owner of the companies SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, responded in an offensive way through the X platform, to the criticism leveled at him by the former Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, regarding his involvement in the incoming Trump administration.

Merkel had stated in an interview with the German magazine Spiegel that Musk owns 60% of all satellites in space, a fact that particularly worries her. In addition, he expressed concerns about Musk’s political ambitions, noting that, as a former Chancellor, he learned that business and political interests must be kept in a delicate balance.

The former Chancellor said that the fact that Musk owns 60% of satellites in orbit, strengthens its position on the world political chessboardas these satellites are used for strategic and political purposes.

“If a person like him owns 60% of all satellites moving in space, then that should be a huge cause for concern for us.”he said characteristically.

Merkel added that politics must determine the social balance between the powerful and ordinary citizens.

However, Musk’s response to Merkel’s statement was – to say the least – vulgar.

Writing to X “Who is this Angela Merkin?”Musk referred to the former Chancellor ironically, making a pun, using the term (merkin) referring to a wig used by women for puberty.

What is Merkin

The origin that “merkin” goes back to the 15th century, where it was mainly used by sex workerswho were required to shave their pubic area to prevent the spread of lice or sexually transmitted diseases.

This fierce counterattack from Musk comes at a time when his relationship with former US President Donald Trump appears to be strengthening, with Politico reporting that this close relationship could bring even more funding for SpaceX and allow Musk to promote his nominee for NASA leadership.

This is not the first time that Musk has provoked with his posts on social media, referring to figures in the political scene. Earlier in November, he had characterized “stupid” German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
