LaserTV, Projectors and CanvasTV

More interesting for our audience was certainly the tour we took to see the innovations in the field of televisions and entertainment.

Home-grown MicroLEDs

We start from two colossal MicroLED screenscertainly not yet within the reach of consumers, but already available in the business and digital signage sectors. We are talking about the impossibility of purchase by private individuals given that they have a diagonal of 136 and 164 inches and cost more or less a thousand euros per inch. Based on a 1.5 mm matrix, they have 2K and 4K resolution, respectively. The interesting fact is that these MicroLEDs are entirely produced by Hisense, unlike what happens with televisions, where the Chinese giant buys third-party panels.

LaserTV and 4K Projectors

Hisense continues to believe strongly in projection, which is available both in short throw and traditional optics, leveraging triple RGB laser technology. As for LaserTVs and UST (Ultra Short Throw) projectors, among the new features we find the possibility of purchasing a motorized retractable ALR projection screen directly from the Hisense catalog, without having to search for third-party products. A small portable LaserTV is also coming, to easily create a giant screen wherever you are.

Among the standard projectors we find a whole range of products with the new Hisense C2 series, available in three models: Hisense C2, C2 Pro and C2 Ultra. As you can imagine, the different models have common features, but as they go up they offer more complete functionality.

At the base of all three models we find a 4K optical engine with triple RGB laser, which aims to combine brightness and saturation. Going up the brightness of the three models is respectively 2,000 ANSI lumens for the Hisense C2, which rises to 2,600 for the Pro and 3,000 for the Hisense C2 Ultra. A common feature is support for Dolby Vision HDR.

Of course, the three models differ in their audio, all of which are designed by JBL. The C2 Pro is more powerful than the C2, while the C2 Ultra also integrates a subwoofer into the swivel base, to give more body to the low frequencies.

The presence of the rotating base and a tilt system gives great flexibility to the system. The tilt can go from 0° to 135°, therefore also including the vertical position for projection on the ceiling.

In all cases we find an automatic focus and trapezoid correction system, to make both installation easier and use more freely, with movement from one room to another. Among other things, the C2 Pro and C2 Ultra also have a zoom lens, for greater versatility in terms of distance from the wall. The C2 series allows you to project images from 65 to 300 inches.

At the base we find the VIDAA operating system, with its complete set of apps. In terms of connections, the Hisense C2 projectors offer both the Wi-Fi module and the Ethernet network port, as well as two HDMI inputs, optical output and two USB ports to use any external memories.

Following the Hisense Laser Cinema PX3-PRO’s ‘Designed for Xbox’ certification earlier this year, Hisense’s C2 Ultra 4K laser projector now boasts the same certification, making it an ideal choice for those looking for full-wall gaming.

CanvasTV: TVs That Look Like Paintings

Hisense IFA 2024 CanvasTV

Moving on to televisions, Hisense also embraces one of the current trends, that of ‘Art’ televisions with a matte finish on the screen, capable of displaying images with a particular texture and, for example, giving the illusion that instead of the television screen there is a canvas by a famous artist.

Alongside two prototypes with more advanced features (such as the presence of wheels to move the TV comfortably), we saw the S7 series on display, already marketed in the USA and which should soon be available in Europe. It is a TV with CanvasTV technology and a 4K QLED panel at 120 Hz, capable of being an all-rounder and providing a good experience for all types of content, including video games.
