Hits are coming to PlayStation 5! Sony reveals its cards

The late-night State of Play presentation brought a flood of announcements of new hits for PlayStation 5. What can gamers expect in the coming months?

Undoubtedly, the most important game in the latest State of Play installment is Ghost of Yōtei – the second installment of the series, which appeared on PlayStation 4 in 2020. Players then took on the role of Jin Sakai – a samurai who travels the titular island of Tsushima and tries to reclaim it from the Mongols. The fact that a sequel is being created was no secret, but the biggest surprise is the fact that in Ghost of Yōtei we have a completely new region and a completely new hero – specifically, the heroine. This time, players will follow the fate of Atsu, 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, where we will explore the vast regions of the land of Ezo, which we now know as Hokkaido. In 1603, this area was outside the rule of Japan and was full of vast meadows, snowy tundras and unexpected dangers. Players can expect a lot of attractions and even more adventures than in the first part.

Although this ramaster has been talked about for a long time. Now we have received official confirmation of work on it Horizon Zero Dawn Remasteredwhich will hit stores on October 31. It is a remastered version of the 2017 hit. The remaster includes over 10 hours of recorded new dialogue, mocap sessions and countless graphical improvements that make the game as good as its sequel. At the same time, we learned that work on transferring Alloy to the LEGO world is already in the final stages, and LEGO Horizon Adventures will be available in stores on November 14th.

State of Play: A Flood of Games on PlayStation

Let’s stop for a moment on remasters, as the existence of remastered classics from the first PlayStation has been officially confirmed. The series returns to PS5 Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. Both parts of Raziel’s adventures, who wants to take revenge on his Master (Kain), will be available for sale on December 10 and will also be available for PS4. The Japanese RPG series Lunar will also receive a refresh, as part of the collection Lunar Remastered Collection will debut next spring.

We also learned the first details about the free DLC for PlayStation’s biggest hit this year. Astrobot will receive new levels and challenges this fall. There will also be new heroes to find – including Eve from Stellar Blade. A hit production that may face difficult times. The creators and publisher were sued for trademark infringement. A trailer for the DLC for Alan Wake 2. The Lake House will take players to a new location, Lake Cauldron, where mysterious events are only the beginning of the adventure.

The unexpected guest at the State of Play presentation was the game Palworldwhich debuted on PlayStation 5 last night. Interestingly, this production, which stormed to the top of the charts on Steam, will not be available to players from Japan. There, the game does not yet have a release date for PS5, probably due to problems and a dispute with Nintendo, which filed a lawsuit against its creators.

New PlayStation 5 colors. Get your wallets ready

These are the most interesting, in my opinion, titles worth waiting for. Full summary State of Play can be found on the official PlayStation websites. We will certainly write about most of the premieres, as well as reviews of the most important titles that will debut on PS5 in the coming weeks.

However, games are not all that PlayStation has presented during State of Play. The PS5 (Slim) consoles and DualSense controllers in new colors will soon be available for sale. The PS5 and controller in Chroma Pearl, Chroma Indigo, and Chroma Teal are part of the Chroma collection, and their housings have been painted to shimmer with different shades of color depending on the angle from which they are viewed. Pre-sale of the collection starts on October 3. The Chroma Pearl and Chroma Indigo devices will appear in stores on November 7, while Chroma Teal will have to wait a little longer – until January 2025.
