The target group is Gen Z who want to rock the summer when HMD presents its latest mobile.
The Finnish mobile manufacturer HMD, which previously only devoted itself to Nokia mobiles but which now releases mobile rounds under its own name, has launched a new model in the form of HMD Skyline. According to HMD themselves, it is a mobile primarily aimed at Gen Z.
Technically, it is a mobile with a 6.55-inch pOLED screen with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, and is available with either 8 or 12 gigabytes of working memory and 128 or 256 gigabytes storage. It ships with Android 14 and will receive two OS upgrades.
The three cameras on the back consist of a 108-megapixel primary camera that is complemented by a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens. The front camera is 50 megapixels.
The battery has a capacity of 4600 mAh and can be charged either wirelessly via the Qi2 standard or USB-C.
One of the prominent details of the HMD Skyline is that energy has been invested in enabling users to repair their mobiles themselves. For example, it should be easy to replace such things as the screen, charging port, back and battery on your own, and that there are spare parts and tools for repairs to be purchased from the repair service iFixit.
The HMD Skyline is available in the colors “Neon Pink” and “Twisted Black”, and the configuration with 8/128 gigabytes costs SEK 5,790, the one with 8/256 gigabytes costs SEK 5,990, and the one with 12/256 gigabytes costs SEK 6,390.
