The hockey players of Pardubice defeated Mlada Boleslav 2:0 in the preliminary game of the 30th round of the extra league, defeated Bruslar for the ninth time in a row and moved to the top of the competition. The home game was decided in the third period, when Martin Kaut and Roman Červenka scored on the power play. Goalkeeper Roman Will kept a clean sheet for the second time this season.
The home team started without the latest reinforcement of defender Jakub Zbořil. The defender with NHL experience only introduced himself to the fans in civilian clothes, he should wear the Dynamo jersey for the first time on Friday in Kladno.
After a cautious start with no major chances, the visitors could open the scoring in power plays, but they were unable to take advantage of the exclusion of Hájek or Kousal. Even the initial numerical advantage of East Bohemia ended without effect, Furch caught reliably just like his counterpart Will.
At the beginning of the second half, the Skaters took over the shooting activity, but the goalkeepers continued to dominate the match. However, the pace and attractiveness of the game in the enteria arena certainly did not indicate that two teams were fighting for the lead in the competition. Neither the visiting Lakatoš nor the home team Hájek could change the scoreless state with an individual action.
Šustr was close to the first goal in the 37th minute, but the Pardubice defender’s shot bounced off both posts towards the field. The Central Bohemians then withstood Dynamo’s increased activity at the end of the second half.
The spectators finally got the opening goal in the 42nd minute, when Kaut drove into an ideal position between the circles, shot past Furch and scored his eighth goal of the season. Dynamo could have added a reassuring goal in numerical advantages, but the visitors, playing selflessly, withstood the pressure of the opponent when both Pyrochta and Lintuniemi were expelled.
The guests also had a similar chance to score, but even the Central Bohemians did not take advantage of two power plays in quick succession. During the power play of the guests, the representative captain Červenka had the last word, Mladá Boleslav came out empty-handed for the first time in the season.
