Marko Đorđević, the owner of “Gazdinstva Đorđević” from Pirot, points out that his products are distinguished by their quality and traditional way of preparation. On the farm, they produce strawberry, blackberry and raspberry jam, as well as cherry and raspberry syrups. Their liqueurs include fruit flavors like blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, cherry and quince. What sets the products of this farm apart is that the fruit is grown on its own plantations, and all products are made according to ancestral recipes. This provides an authentic taste, far from the industrial products available in stores.

How are these homemade products made?

According to Marko Đorđević, the process of making liqueur includes carefully selected ingredients. In a large container, combine a kilogram of sugar, a kilogram of fruit and a liter of homemade grape brandy. This mixture stands for 45 days in the light, but not in direct sunlight. After ripening, the liqueur is bottled and ready to be enjoyed.

Similarly, preparing sweets requires time and patience. In the traditional way, a kilogram of fruit and a kilogram of sugar are cooked on fire. The key moment in this process is density testing, which is done by placing a drop on the nail – if the drop remains, the product is ready to be packaged in jars. This test, passed down from generation to generation, is a symbol of preserving authenticity and quality.

Đorđević’s goal is not only the production but also the promotion of domestic products that are made with care and love. His farm proves that traditional products, with the use of natural ingredients, can compete with commercial products, while maintaining an authentic taste. Such specialties are not only a pleasure for the palate, but also a memory of the past when family recipes were an invaluable part of everyday life.
