Rose syrup with a magical color
As for the rose syrupas is often the case, there are several ways to proceed. Here is my favorite recipe to preserve the magnificent color.
-
Place in a saucepan 400 g of sugar, 4 dl of water, 4 handfuls of untreated rose petals and the juice of an organic lemon. Stir very gently.
-
Bring to a boil and immediately remove from heat.
-
Let stand for 12 to 24 hours.
-
Then bring to the boil again, filter quickly and put into small bottles.
If you do not have or no longer have untreated roses in the garden, dried rosebuds for medicinal use (in herbalists or drugstores) are also suitable for this preparation: two to three handfuls are then sufficient.
To really enjoy the aroma of rosedon’t hesitate to dose generously. For once, too bad for the sugar!
Excellent in syrup, with sparkling water, or in a smoothie for children, but also to decorate and flavor creams, ice creams or even fresh goat cheese. Not to mention that you can make ice cubes that will delight the simplest glass of water !
