DAPURPACUID – PT Wahana Makmur Sejati (WMS) Safety Riding Promotion (SRP) Team visited the University of Indonesia in order to provide education about safe driving on the road.
Packaged as a seminar about driving safety, this activity is a collaboration between PT Astra Honda Motor and PT WMS which has a partnership with PT Jasa Raharja DKI Jakarta Branch in collaboration with the Sub-Directorate of South Kalimantan Polda Metro Jaya and the Directorate of Cooperation at the University of Indonesia.
The seminar was attended by no less than 150 students from various departments, with the theme ‘Proud to be the #Search_Safe Generation’, last Wednesday (25/9).
Through this theme, AHM and Wahana hope that participants consisting of the younger generation can become driving safety agents in the future, so as to reduce the potential for accidents.
Head of Unit 7 Subditkamsel Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, AKP. Dewita Telysiswati SH said that motorbikes are still one of the most common transportation vehicles on the roads.
“However, to ride a motorbike you don’t just have to have skills, you also need awareness to always prioritize safety,” he added in an official broadcast, Thursday.
Data from the National Police Traffic Corps records that the number of accidents involving motorbikes continues to increase from year to year. The lack of awareness of driving safety is considered to be one of the factors in increasing the number of accidents.
Through this seminar, participants gain a variety of knowledge about safe traffic education and improve their competency in riding motorbikes.
Until now, there are still three driving behaviors that are considered dangerous and increase the potential for accidents, namely driving not according to the speed limit, not recognizing road conditions and the vehicle in front, and inappropriate driving techniques.
Radito Risangadi, SH., M.RiskMgmt, Head of Jasa Raharja DKI Jakarta Main Branch said that motorbike users now have to be more alert to the conditions around them.
“Because there are still many accidents that occur due to lack of focus and not paying attention to the surrounding environment,” he explained in front of the UI community.
The driving safety seminar has become AHM’s annual agenda and is proof of its commitment to always make a real contribution to reducing the number of accidents in the country.
As the main Honda motorbike dealer in Jakarta-Tangerang, PT WMS also has the responsibility to continue to educate the public about the importance of driving safety.
This was explained by the Head of Safety Riding Promotion PT WMS, Agus Sani, where this activity was not only aimed at reducing the potential for accidents. Participants can also better understand and understand how to drive safely.
