DAPURPACUID – Throughout GIIAS 2024 (July 18-28), the Honda car line was successful in attracting visitors, recording a total of 1,816 units of orders (SPK).
This number almost matches the number of orders that Honda received at GIIAS last year, even though the automotive market in general is experiencing a decline in sales this year.
Of this number, the Honda Brio series was able to record the highest sales of up to 800 units, or 43 percent of Honda’s total sales at GIIAS 2024.
Followed by the Honda SUV line consisting of the Honda HR-V with 386 units, the Honda WR-V with sales of 344 units, the Honda BR-V with 164 units and the Honda CR-V with 109 units.
For the record, all of these sales figures are orders made at the Honda booth during GIIAS 2024 and have fulfilled the administrative procedures with a booking fee.
Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor, Yusak Billy, admitted that the number of orders achieved this year was almost equivalent to the results at GIIAS 2023.
“This shows an improvement in consumer demand, even though the automotive market in general is experiencing a decline compared to the same period in the previous year,” explained Yusak.
According to him, this achievement has also begun to have a positive impact on Honda sales, especially in the Jakarta area, where this month recorded an increase in orders of around 20 percent compared to the previous month.
“We are optimistic that the realization of orders at GIIAS this year will be seen again in our retail figures at the beginning of the second semester,” Yusak added in his official release.
Nationally, the automotive market in Indonesia from January to June 2024 recorded retail sales of 431,987 units, or down around 14 percent compared to the same period last year.
Honda itself recorded retail sales of its product line of 51,681 units this year, with Brio and Honda SUV models being the backbone of sales.
On the other hand, based on data collected by the organizers of GIIAS 2024, there was an increase in the number of visitors to the opening series of the automotive exhibition compared to the previous year.
This certainly has an impact on increasing consumer interest in automotive products. As is known, during the 12 days of the GIIAS exhibition, 475,084 people have visited the venue.
Meanwhile, based on internal Honda calculations, there was a 13 percent increase in the number of visitors to the Honda booth compared to GIIAS 2023.
Not only that, Honda also won an award in the Favorite Special Exhibit Car category chosen by visitors to GIIAS 2024 for the Honda e:N1.
HPM itself plans to introduce Honda’s first electric car and start selling it in Indonesia in 2025. (dpid/TH)
