Honor introduces Circle to Search on Magic V3 and Honor 200

AI-based search function

Honor brings “Circle to Search”, a new search function to the Magic V3 and the Honor 200 series. The AI-based function is intended to make it easier to search for information directly on the smartphone.

Honor has introduced the new Circle to Search feature for its Magic V3 and Honor 200 models. Android manufacturer Google introduced the AI search function at the beginning of the year and rolled it out on its own Pixel smartphones. Samsung also already uses the feature on several models. Now the first Honor smartphones also benefit from AI search.

With “Circle to Search” you can search content displayed on the screen directly with Google. To do this, you draw a circle to mark an element such as text or images on the display. This means you can start a search without changing the app and, for example, directly from a video.

The function makes it possible to quickly analyze content such as texts, images or videos. This can be helpful in various situations, such as translating, doing homework, or finding information about images on social media.

Developing a comprehensive AI ecosystem

Honor emphasizes that AI plays a key role in its technology strategy. The company is working hard to build a secure and powerful AI ecosystem that includes both on-device and cloud-based functions. The advancements also include the introduction of a multi-layered security architecture to ensure the protection of user data.

The Honor Magic V3, presented at IFA 2024, offers other innovative AI functions in addition to “Circle to Search”. These include the AI Eraser, a face-to-face translation function and the note-taking app Honor Notes. These features are intended to increase productivity and improve the user experience. In addition, a new eye protection technology based on AI was introduced to address health concerns related to smartphone use.
