Honor is also releasing the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone in Europe

Chinese smartphone maker Honor is bringing the Magic V3 smartphone to Europe, it announced at the IFA tech fair in Berlin. The Magic V3 is the thinnest foldable smartphone in the world. The device was previously only available in China.

The Honor Magic V3 was presented in China in July. The device has a thickness of 9.3 millimeters. There is also a version that is only 9.2 millimeters thick. For comparison: the new Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is 10.5 millimeters thick and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 12.1 millimeters. The thickness of the Magic V3 does not include the camera island on the back of the device.

With a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and up to 16 GB of RAM, the V3 is at the top of the smartphone market. The foldable has two OLED screens that refresh 120 times per minute. In addition, the device has a maximum storage of 1 TB and a battery with a size of 5,150 mAh. That does come with a hefty price tag: in Europe, the Magic V3 starts at a price of 1,999 euros.

More expensive than competitors

The price of the device is a bit higher than that of foldable smartphones from competitors. For example, you currently have a Galaxy Z Fold 6 for around 1,500 euros and a Pixel 9 Pro Fold from 1,899 euros.

When and if the new foldable phone from Honor will be for sale in the Netherlands, remains unclear. At the moment, the device cannot yet be ordered in the Dutch webshop of the manufacturer. This is possible on the German, British, Italian and Slovakian webshops of Honor. If you want to be one of the first to have the device, you will have to go to those sites. The Magic V3 will be shipped from September 20, as can be seen on the German site.
