With the Magic V3, Honor is launching a slim foldable, which for the first time also comes with a cheaper variant, the Vs3.
Honor has initially only shown its two folding smartphones, Magic V3 and Magic Vs3, for the Chinese home market. However, both are also expected to come to Europe; a likely launch date could be the IFA in early September, where Honor will hold a keynote speech.
At 9.2 millimeters folded and 4.3 millimeters unfolded, the Magic V3 is the thinnest foldable on the market. In addition, the 226 gram case has IPX8 water protection. The inner display has a 7.9 inch diagonal, and the outer screen is also generously sized at 6.4 inches. The rear triple camera has a 50 megapixel main lens, a 50 megapixel periscope telephoto camera and a 40 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The displays each have a 20 megapixel front camera.
Other features include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a 5,150 mAh battery that can be charged wirelessly with up to 50 watts and via cable with 66 watts. Prices for the smartphone start at the equivalent of around 1,270 euros in China – but in Europe, like its predecessor, it is likely to be significantly more expensive.
The Magic Vs3 is supposed to be cheaper, it is a bit thicker, has smaller camera apertures and uses an older Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Prices in China start at the equivalent of around 970 euros.
