Today there was a big change in the management of Honor. Actually the biggest one possible. George Zhao, its CEO, has resigned from his post and is leaving the company’s leadership after a very long service. Honor’s board of directors has already appointed his successor, and the situation surrounding this departure has been somewhat unclear and confusing for a long time.

Honor’s pilot departs

It was already talked about yesterday that its top representative is leaving the top ranks of the popular Chinese manufacturer. Some information appeared on the Internet, but later everything was refuted. Finally, this fact is confirmed and on their website the Chinese manufacturer did so directly.

George Zhao is leaving his mentally demanding position due to health reasons. After leaving, he plans to recover properly and spend more time with his family. The specific health problems of the former Honor CEO have not been specified.

The new CEO is already in office

With the approval of the board of directors, Jian Li was appointed to head Honor, who previously held senior management positions in various divisions at the company. He has been working at Honor for four years and has extensive experience in leading positions.

But following up on his predecessor won’t be easy at all, as Mr. Zhao brought Honor to where it is now and brought it out of the dark ages. The time when Honor fell under Huawei is long forgotten, and the company is a strong, global brand that is proud of many successes.

One of the company’s biggest veterans is leaving

George Zhao took over the reins of the company in 2015, when he transferred to it from the parent company Huawei. In total, he worked for Huawei and Honor for 17 long years, so the company is losing an experienced managerial veteran and fighter. Honor is currently the fifth largest manufacturer in the Chinese market and its ambitions are still the highest.
