The bad news first: Both the Honor Magic V3 and the Honor Magic Vs3 are currently only intended for the Chinese market. However, it is quite possible that one of the two foldables will also find its way to Europe. Therefore, we are presenting the two new smartphones in more detail today.
Das Honor Magic V3
The new Honor Magic V3 is only 9.2 mm thick when folded. When unfolded, the smartphone is only 4.3 mm thick. For comparison: the brand new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a whopping 12.1 mm thick when folded. This makes the Honor Magic V3 the thinnest foldable available on the market.
Inside there is a 7.92-inch display with a resolution of 2,344 x 2,156 pixels. The external display is 6.43 inches with a resolution of 2,376 x 1,060 pixels. Both displays can run at 120 Hz. The device is protected against water according to IPX8 and now also offers wireless charging with up to 50 watts.
The camera system offers a wide-angle camera with 50 MP, a periscope telephoto camera with 50 MP and an ultra-wide-angle camera with 40 MP. The displays each have a front camera with 20 MP.
The Honor Magic V3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen. 3, which in turn is supported by a 5,150 mAh battery. The operating system is MagicOS 8.0.1, which is based on Android 14. The Prices start at 9,999 yuanwhich corresponds to approximately 1,250 euros.

In contrast to the V3, the Vs3 is slightly thicker at 9.8 mm when folded and also slightly thicker than the V3 when unfolded at 4.6 mm. The displays are almost identical, except that the so-called PWM dimming is less powerful on the Vs3. The camera system is also similar, only the apertures are different and the light intensity has been slightly reduced on the Vs3. The two selfie cameras on the Honor Magic Vs3 have a resolution of 16 MP (instead of 20 MP on the V3).
The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen. 2 – a significant downgrade compared to the V3. The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and, just like the V3, can be charged wirelessly with up to 50 watts. Costs for the Honor Magic Vs3 start at 7,699 yuanwhich corresponds to approximately 950 euros.
