OR Honor reveal it MagicOS 9.0 in China, a week before the announcement of the Magic7 series.
He called it the world’s first personalized AI operating system that covers all scenarios and highlighted the deeper integration of the voice assistant Yoyo or AI Agent as they call it.
MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15, will work in various applications using MagicLM, Honor’s language model. The company claims it will understand natural language and computer vision, while also learning from your habits and being aware of context.
In the new software, MagicLM should offer 80% less power consumption, 77% faster loading speed and 500% faster word output speed. All this means a reduction of 1.8 GB of storage space and 1.6 GB of RAM consumption.
MagicOS 9.0 also comes with the industry’s first AI Deepfake Detection anti-fraud and user protection feature.
Design-wise, the OS brings new features like Flexible Desktop, Magic Lock Screen and Magic Style – tools to fully customize your experience. There is also AI Gallery, AI Eraser, Face Restoration and AI Image Expansion.
Honor has already announced which devices will receive the new update, along with a rollout schedule. The announcement is for the Chinese market, however, and units internationally will have to wait longer.
We expect MagicOS 9.0 to arrive globally in the first months of 2025, along with an international launch of Magic7 phones.
