Tension has arisen between Karnaphuli and Kotwali police stations over the case of recovery of the naked body of a housewife missing from Abedin Colony in Chittagong city from Kalarpur canal under Karnaphuli police station.
The victim’s family has complained that Karnaphuli police station authorities and Kotowali police station and Kotowali police station authorities are advising to file a case with Karnaphuli police station.
Karnaphuli Thana Police recovered the body of the housewife from Karnaphuli Colorpool Bridge yesterday on Thursday at 2.30 pm. That woman’s name is Dilruba Begum Pipa. He has one daughter and one son.
However, 2/3 days before the body was recovered, Abdul Alim Prakash Alim, the victim’s husband, filed a missing diary at Kotwali police station.
The victim’s family complained that the husband did not react to the news that his wife’s body was recovered. Instead of going to the morgue to see his wife’s body, the husband took shelter at Kotwali police station with his elder daughter.
The family alleges that the victim’s husband indulged in such activities to influence the incident in different sectors. They were not even informed about the victim’s disappearance. The victim’s family members claim that there has been a quarrel between the husband and wife since marriage. Dilruba was killed in a planned manner.
Victim’s uncle Yakub Azadi Janan, I went to the morgue yesterday and identified my niece’s body. The victim’s husband, instead of visiting his wife’s body at the morgue, is taking his elder daughter with him to the police station. If he was innocent why didn’t he go to see his wife’s body.
In this case, there was a problem with filing a case. The two police stations are advising each other to file a case. It is very sad.
The victim’s husband Abdul Alim Prakash Alim told Azadi, I am innocent, my wife did not die in my flat or nearby. He left the house to go to Baklia’s father’s house. Later I filed a GD at Kotwali Police Station as I was not able to find it.
In this regard, OC Monir of Karnaphuli Police Station said that the locals recovered the body from the spot and sent it to the Chittagong Medical College morgue after receiving the news that a woman’s body was floating in the Kalarpool Canal. The victim’s family identified the body there. Later it was learned that the victim’s husband made a missing diary in the case of the woman’s disappearance. Since that police station already has the missing diary, that police station can take action.
Meanwhile, Kotwali police station OC Fazlul Quader Chowdhury said that the victim’s husband made a missing diary in this incident. However, the body was recovered from Karnaphuli. Being interrogated by the husband. Further investigation is underway. A statement is coming on behalf of the victim’s family. The victim’s family is being sent to Karnaphuli police station for the case.
ADC Kazi of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, Md. Tarek Aziz, said that the case will be filed in which police station depending on the statement filed. Kotwali police station can take up the case if there is a mention of disappearance from the city in the declaration.
And if there is a mention of rescue from Karnaphuli, then the concerned police station can take a case. However, since a GD has been filed in Kotwali police station earlier in the case of disappearance, a case can be filed in that police station. It is not complicated.
