MISS UNIVERSE – It’s the start of an adventure for Indira Ampiot. Miss France 2023 flew to Mexico this weekend, she who will represent France there on November 16 during the Miss Universe final.

For this prestigious competition, the 20-year-old Guadeloupean prepared carefully “fairly intense”as she explains this Sunday October 27 in an interview for TF1Info.

This preparation “started in January (2024) with () English lessons (…) in London for six months”, “up to six hours of catwalk lessons per week” et “sport twice a week”.

“I also had makeup, hairdressing and styling lessons. There are also shootings to organize and more psychological preparation”adds Miss France 2023, who adds being “very well surrounded by (her) loved ones and (her) various committees”.

On her stay in London, Indira Ampiot says she had English lessons “every morning except weekends”with “tests every week”. “Our afternoons were free so I really visited the city up and down.”she confides to TF1Info.

Two Miss France crowned since 1953

On November 16 in Mexico City, she will face more than 80 other young women. Indira Ampiot hopes to win the crown and succeed the only two representatives of France to have been elected Miss Universe over the decades: Christiane Martel in 1953 and Iris Mittenaere in 2016.

As a reminder last year, France represented by Diane Leyre – Miss France 2022 – was not ranked in the final top 20. It was Miss Nicaragua, Sheynnis Palacios, who was elected Miss Universe 2023.

Note that this year for the first time, the age of participants was not limited to 28 years.
