How much money does Gigi Becali have in the banks and the colossal amount he has entered in the wealth declaration under “promises of sale and purchase from a legal entity”

As a candidate for the parliamentary elections of December 1, on the AUR lists, Gigi Becali published his wealth declaration, which includes, for example, the money from the bank accounts.

We are talking about 560,000 lei, a surprisingly small amount if we refer to the entire wealth, but no less than 30 million euros are added to it, representing “promises of sale and purchase from the legal entity”.

The landowner from Pipera aspires to a seat in the Chamber of Deputieswith the promise that he will initiate – if he gets it – a series of important legislative projects. To be the first on the list, after George Simion, he had to take money out of his pocket.

According to the asset declaration, Becali owns more than 15 hectares of land and seven hectares of pond in Ilfov, most of them in the inner city, plus 90 hectares in Pitesti and 50 hectares in Vâlcea. As for the immovable and movable assets, there is a house in Voluntari, of 290 square meters, which he came into possession of in 2024, one in Iași, of 453 square meters, four Mercedes cars, two Land Rovers and one Bentley.

In the chapter of financial assets, the sum of 560,000 lei was declared in the form of bank deposits, as well as “promises of sale and purchase from a legal entity” in the total amount of 30 million euros.

The financier of FCSB is, moreover, one of the richest Romanian businessmen. Specialized publications estimate that his wealth exceeds the threshold of one billion euros.

How he got rich after the Revolution: “I’m not the genius of geniuses”

In his youth, he wanted to have a farm where he could raise sheep and cattle, which is why he purchased land in the northern area of ​​Bucharest. The money came, according to his words, from the sale consumer and clothing items brought from Turkey.

“Let’s tell the truth! However, I am not the genius of geniuses. When others went with Dacia for the goods, I came with the trucks. We brought soaps, jeans, appliances, anything. Then I went with a TIR, then with two, then with 5. Then, I brought equipment from Germany.

I was making a lot of money in ’90, ’91, ’92. My dream was to have a farm. We wanted 2-3000 sheep, 2-300 cows. I started to buy land, to be able to feed the animals. Since I had 100 cows and 800 sheep I started taking land for animals. I didn’t think about real estate value. Why lie to people? I was simply inspired”, revealed Gigi Becali in a dialogue with Mihai Neamțu, held on Tik Tok.
