How much will a passenger who flew with Ryanair pay for violent behavior on board?

A Ryanair flight from Dublin to Lanzarote had to make an emergency landing in Porto due to the violent behavior of a passenger. The airline is now asking him for compensation of 15,000 euros for the damages caused.

The incident occurred on April 9, on flight FR7124, when a passenger became violent and behaved in an unacceptable manner, forcing the crew to divert the aircraft to Porto.

Because of this incident, the 160 passengers on board lost an entire day of their vacation and suffered various inconveniences, according to Il Messaggero.

Ryanair stressed that it has a “zero tolerance” policy towards such incidents

“It is completely unacceptable that passengers, many of whom were traveling with family or friends for a relaxing summer holiday, should suffer unnecessary inconvenience and a reduction in their days off due to the unruly behavior of a single individual,” explained a spokesperson for Irish company.

The amount of €15,000 requested by Ryanair represents the total costs generated by the incident, including passenger accommodation, additional expenses and the costs of the emergency landing in Porto.

The company stressed that it has a “zero tolerance” policy for such incidents and hopes the legal action will deter similar behavior in the future. Ryanair representatives stated that their priority is to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all passengers and crew members.
