Yesterday, as we know, was an important day for Stellantis. CEO Tavares, during the Factory Booster Day 2024 at the Stellantis Complex in Mirafioriin Turin, made important statements and also communicated that he had taken the decision to introduce well 93 new innovations this year.
Let’s find out more about what it is, also remembering some initiatives introduced in 2023.
Important innovations
Over the past three years, the company said, more than 300 proposals have been considered by the Stellantis manufacturing team, which has carefully chosen what to introduce or not to introduce into its processes.
The innovations introduced in 2023, for example, have proven over the last 12 months to be a truly fundamental help when it comes to building cars, especially thanks to theArtificial intelligence.
According to the company, in fact, the most important innovation came with the introduction of the latter in various computer programs and not only.

Among these, for example, there are Autodesk Construction Clouda cloud-based platform that aims to streamline workflows in all phases: from design, to planning, to construction, up to the operational phase.
This is a program presented during the 2022 edition of Factory Booster Day, which in the last two years has allowed both supplier companies and Stellantis itself to “simultaneously share and simulate construction layouts”.
First implemented in the Windsor, Canada plant for the start of production of the STLA Large platform, following the significant cost savings it generated, it has also been extended to the STLA Frame at the Sterling Heights plant in Michigan, USA.

But not only that, another software implemented by Stellantis in its production processes with Artificial Intelligence has been GuideNow of Inbolt, a France-based startup that has developed a way to harness artificial intelligence to enable robots to adjust trajectory and real-time operationsto avoid potential conflicts or impacts during the production and transport phases.

Finally, moving on to hardware, the third important innovation that must be mentioned is the autonomous wheels of wheel.mea Norwegian robotics startup that has developed special electrified wheels for existing trolleys.
Once installed, in fact, these devices are able to transform the containers into real robot mobile autonomousi (AMR), completely replacing standard casters and automating the movement of parts or goods within factories.
As mentioned, the 2024 edition of the Factory Booster Day on September 18, held at the Mirafiori complex in Turin, involved over 60 new partners and introduced some innovations that will soon be implemented in the Group’s many plants.
