Google Wallet is the digital place for your concert tickets, public transport chip card and customer cards, but of course also a debit card. How to add the latter, you can read step-by-step here.
Add debit card to Google Wallet
It was previously announced that ING customers would have to switch to Google Pay, because wireless payments via the bank itself are no longer possible. I am one of those ING users and last week I had to add my debit cards to Google Wallet. Incidentally, you can also use the Wallet app for concert tickets, discount coupons and other cards. We have already shown you how to add these.
Want to add a debit card to Google Wallet? Follow these steps:
- Grab your phone, install google wallet and open the app;
- Tap ‘Add to Wallet’ at the bottom right;
- Select the top option: ‘Payment card’ and tap on it;
- Tap the ‘nfc’ icon on the right and hold your card against the back of your smartphone;
- Check the details, adjust them manually if necessary and tap ‘save’.
If this method does not work well, choose to enter the data manually directly. Are you adding multiple payment cards? Then make sure that you set the most suitable card to use for contactless payment by default. Do you want to double-check this? Then click on your profile icon at the top right and select ‘payment methods’. You can then edit the card order and indicate which card should be used by default.
Paying is easy and fast as you are used to: a matter of unlocking your device, turning on the screen and holding your phone against a payment terminal. If you want to pay with another added payment card, open the Wallet app, scroll to the right card and then hold your phone against the terminal.
