HP at CES 2025: New AI laptops and workstations for the workplace of the future

HP announces a series of news for the office, including the market’s most powerful AI-powered portable workstation, new EliteBooks and new ZBook workstations.

CES 2025 kicks off in Las Vegas with a wide range of new work products from HP to make an increasingly dynamic work life easier.

The news includes the market’s most powerful AI-powered portable workstation EliteBook Ultra G1i, the versatile EliteBook X Flip G1i and intelligent docking accessories.

EliteBook Ultra G1i: Market-leading AI work laptop

The new EliteBook Ultra G1i sets new standards for what a work laptop can do.

The 14-inch laptop comes with advanced AI features and hardware that significantly boost productivity without compromising on performance.

  • Advanced AI: With an NPU performance of up to 48 TOPS powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 processor, the EliteBook Ultra G1i delivers powerful AI technology that, for example, makes it possible to personalize emails and make presentations almost twice as fast as otherwise . In addition, e.g. webinars, podcasts and multitasking across other technically demanding work use become no problem.
  • Professional video and audio: EliteBook Ultra G1i comes with built-in Poly Camera Pro of 9 MP with dual microphone and quad speakers that provide professional video quality and sound for video meetings and presentations.
  • Crystal clear visuals: The laptop is equipped with a 14-inch 3K OLED screen that delivers crystal-clear images with a 120 Hz refresh rate. In addition, there is the market’s largest haptic trackpad among AI-powered work laptops, which provides a smooth and precise user experience.
EliteBook X G1i and EliteBook X Flip G1i: Versatile work machines

The EliteBook X G1i and EliteBook X Flip G1i, both 14 inches, land as the latest additions to HP’s flexible laptops for professionals on the go.

  • Effective multitasking: Both models deliver up to 48 TOPS NPU powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 or Intel Core Ultra 7, which effortlessly tackles demanding work tasks such as video editing and presentations.
  • Thermal optimization: Both the EliteBook X G1i and EliteBook X Flip G1i come with a new thermal design with dual turbo fans that keep the devices 10 percent quieter than before, even under heavy workloads.
  • Can be taken anywhere: The slim and extra-flexible EliteBook X Flip G1i easily converts from laptop to tablet and tent mode, making it ideal for creative work, taking on the go and jotting down notes and sketches. It is available in the colors Atmospheric Blue and Glacier Silver.

The new generation of HP’s AI notebooks all come with built-in cybersecurity via Wolf Security as well as HP AI Companion, a generative AI software designed to boost productivity and streamline work tasks.

The technology, which can be used as a personal AI assistant, integrates a number of AI tools into one unified user experience that, among other things, makes it easy to optimize device performance, summarize long articles, and generate content.

Two world firsts in the Z series

HP is also introducing two new workstations, the ZBook Ultra G1a and Z2 Mini G1a, both of which have been developed in collaboration with AMD to deliver high performance in a small space.

Both models handle work at the very heavy end such as 3D design, rendering of demanding graphic projects and local handling of LLMs.

  • ZBook Ultra G1a: The ZBook Ultra G1a will be the market’s most powerful 14-inch portable workstation and HP’s first Ultra model in the Z by HP series of laptops. The novelty comes with up to 16 CPU cores in the desktop class, AMD Ryzen AI Max Pro processor and up to 128 GB unified memory, of which up to 96 GB can be dedicated to the GPU. With a slim and light design, long battery life and advanced AI security, it is ideal for demanding work such as 3D design and local AI calculation.
  • Z2 Mini G1a: At the same time, the brand new Z2 Mini G1a becomes the world’s most powerful mini-workstation, which makes it far easier to move desktop-class performance everywhere. The model has an internal power supply and comes in a compact design that measures approx. 8.5 x 17 x 20 cm and can therefore comfortably be placed on the desk, behind the screen or mounted in a rack.

    The Z2 Mini G1a supports up to 128 GB of unified memory and advanced graphics processing, making it suitable for professionals who need high performance in a smaller space.

HP Z Captis: The world’s first system that captures any material digitally

HP is also unveiling Z Captis, the world’s first digital system capable of capturing virtually any material and rendering it digitally via 3D imaging photometry. Z Captis is integrated with Adobe Substance 3D.

The technology is powered by a built-in NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier system-on-module and HP’s Capture Management SDK, which enables 3D creators to sample and remix reality through direct integration with Adobe Substance 3D Sampler, opening entirely new possibilities for digitizing materials across industries such as architecture, automotive, entertainment, fashion and gaming .

Docking with the world’s first proximity activation

HP also introduces Thunderbolt 4 G6 Docks, the world’s first docks with proximity activation.

  • Automatic startup: The dock detects a PC via Bluetooth, wakes up monitors and accessories, and gets the workstation ready before the user reaches the desktop.
  • Three versions: Available with 100W, 180W or 280W power supply to meet the needs of general users, creative professionals and technical specialists.
  • Security and management: HP Wolf Security and Poly Lens ensure full protection and cloud management without disrupting workflow.
New accessories

In addition, HP is expanding the portfolio of Poly accessories with new headsets and mice that elevate the working experience.

  • Poly Voyager Legend 30 and 50: AI-powered headsets with noise reduction and WindSmart technology that provide clear sound regardless of the environment.
  • HP 720/725: Wireless and battery-free keyboards and mice with ultra-fast charging.
  • HP 400 Quiet Wireless Mouse: Comfortable and precise mouse that comes in 5 different colors.
