Huawei: Cooperation for a greener and smarter future in Europe

  • Huawei kicked off its annual Huawei Connect 2024 event in Paris.
  • Thousands of guests, including industry leaders, technical experts and partners from around the world, gathered to showcase innovative ICT solutions to modernize the industry.
  • Company representatives recalled the growing importance of the TECH4ALL initiative, which combines technological innovation and nature protection with the support of digital and green transformation in Europe

At the Huawei Connect 2024 event in Paris, Huawei highlighted the importance of digital transformation and sustainable development in Europe. “Huawei has been working with European customers and partners for more than 20 years,” said Ken Hu, Huawei’s rotating chairman, in his opening remarks. “We combine our strengths in areas such as networking, cloud, storage and energy, while constantly innovating and creating new value for our customers. We look forward to closer cooperation with our customers and partners for a greener and smarter future.”

Hu also emphasized the promotion of long-term sustainability in the industry through the digital inclusion initiative TECH4ALL. It works through cooperation with governments, universities, non-profit organizations and other partners, for example the partnership with IUCN to protect biodiversity or with UNESCO to support STEM education shows how Huawei connects technology and inclusion for the benefit of society.

The TECH4ALL initiative is also related to digital inclusion and sustainability. In Greece, this initiative introduced a system using AI, 5G and drones to prevent forest fires, and it also includes, for example, TECH4NATURE, which uses technological innovations to protect biodiversity.

During the gala dinner, Jim Lu, senior vice president and president of the European region of Huawei, presented the first award Industry Pioneer Award customers and partners who worked with Huawei on innovative projects. “With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, this is an ideal time for innovation and closer cooperation. We are committed to achieving joint success with our customers and partners.”

Michael Ma, Huawei’s vice president and president of ICT product portfolio and solution management, delivered the keynote speech. “At Huawei, we are committed to investing in ICT to develop cutting-edge products and solutions that can boost enterprise creativity and accelerate Europe’s digital transformation,” said Ma. He emphasized Huawei’s commitment to supporting Europe’s digital transition through innovation in ICT products and solutions and enabling local partners to develop competitive solutions for a wide range of areas.

It presented innovations in five key areas such as:

  • top solution CloudCampus with high quality and speed of 10 Gbps,
  • solution DCN for highly available data centers,
  • solution “one lake, three pools“,
  • ultra-high-speed connection of data centers (DCI),
  • multilayer ransomware ochrana (MRP) – anti-ransomware network-storage collaboration.

Ma also described how Huawei has worked with partners to develop more than 30 solutions targeting specific scenarios and a complete series of products eKit for industries such as government, education, healthcare, hotels, retail, ISPs (ISP) and production.
