Huawei introduces MatePad Pro 12.2 and MatePad 12X

New tablets

Huawei is launching two new tablets: the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 inch and the Huawei MatePad 12X. Both are available with a keyboard.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 inch is the manufacturer’s latest flagship tablet. It is equipped with a tandem OLED PaperMatte display that achieves a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. Anti-glare and nanoscale anti-glare etching technologies are designed to make the display resemble paper. The panel’s resolution is a maximum of 2,800 x 1,840 pixels and the refresh rate is 144 Hz.

To ensure that you can enjoy the tablet for as long as possible, it is equipped with a 10,000 mAh battery that allows for up to 13 hours of local video playback. Fast charging is possible with up to 100 watts, which fully charges the tablet in under an hour.

The tablet also comes with the Huawei Glide Keyboard, which features a 2-in-1 pen and keyboard storage and charging design.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 inch will be available in Germany from mid-October. Prices start at 849 euros for the tablet with 256 GB storage and without the PaperMatte display. If you don’t want to do without it, you can get the better equipped device, also with 512 GB storage, for 999 euros.

Huawei MatePad 12X: Particularly light tablet

Huawei has also announced the Huawei MatePad 12X, which is supposed to be particularly light. How light? Huawei is still keeping quiet about that. The new tablet has the Shimmery Pearlescent Sheen, which creates a metallic white with color-changing effects depending on the light. The Huawei MatePad 12 X PaperMatte Edition has an ultra-bright PaperMatte display that is supposed to offer corresponding quality when viewing, writing and touching.

This display also has a resolution of 2,800 x 1,840 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. However, the 10,000 mAh battery also installed here only manages 14 hours of local video playback and can only be charged with a maximum of 66 watts.

The Huawei MatePad 12X will also be available in Germany from mid-October. Prices start at 569 euros for the tablet equipped with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB flash memory. The device with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage costs 649 euros.

Please note: Both tablets are delivered without the Google Play Store. Instead, Huawei’s AppGallery is included. The reason for this is US restrictions against Chinese technology manufacturers.
