At IFA, it was revealed that Huawei cannot currently use Google services for new phones, therefore the members of the soon-to-be-released Mate 30 series, although they come with the Android operating system, the Play Store, Play services and Google apps (Gmail, YouTube, Maps, etc.) will not be on any device.
All this does not mean, however, that it will not be possible to install them on the phones afterwards; the US ban just means Huawei can’t ship them out of the box with any new phones. The company is therefore working with third-party developers on a solution that enables simple installation of the missing software. The details are not yet known, but based on all of this, it seems that users of the Mate 30 series will not be without Google products either. Even so, it is questionable how much the current situation will hold back sales; almost nothing has been seen in Huawei’s numbers so far, but the third and fourth quarter data will certainly be interesting to see.
