Huawei Mate 70 series officially: attractive design, high performance, top cameras

Huawei presented its new series of smartphones Mate 70which includes four models: Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+ and Mate 70 RS Ultimate Design. These devices are designed for demanding users and bring several innovations in design, performance and photographic capabilities.

Design and display

The Mate 70, 70 Pro and 70 Pro+ models feature an elegant design with slightly curved edges, while the 70 RS Ultimate Design version offers an attractive appearance with an octagonal camera module. All devices are made of a combination of metal and glass, which gives them a premium look. The displays are of the OLED LTPO type with diagonals from 6.7 to 6.9 inches and support a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, which ensures a smooth display of content.

Performance and hardware

The Mate 70 series is probably powered by a processor Kirin 9010which supports 5G networks and provides sufficient performance for demanding applications and games. Memory configurations vary by model, with the RS Ultimate Design offering the highest variant up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. Batteries with capacity od 5 300 mAh do 5 700 mAh they support fast charging via cable and wireless, which ensures long endurance and fast energy replenishment.

Photographic skills

Huawei emphasizes the photographic capabilities of its premium devices. It is no different in the new Mate 70 series. Main camera with resolution 50 MP has a variable aperture f/1.4 – f/4.0 and optical image stabilization (OIS), which enables high-quality images in various lighting conditions.

Telephoto lenses with a periscopic design offer up to 5x optical zoomwhich is ideal for close-up shots of distant objects. The front cameras of higher models support 3D facial scanning for safe device unlocking.

Operating system and artificial intelligence

The new series comes with an operating system HarmonyOS NEXTwhich is not based on Android. This system integrates advanced artificial intelligence features, including an improved voice assistant and photo and video editing tools. Thus, Huawei continues to develop its own ecosystem, which it wants to become independent of Google Android.

Availability and prices

In China, the prices of individual models vary from around 770 euros for the basic Mate 70 to 1,090 euros for the Mate 70 Pro+. Information on availability and prices on the Slovak market has not yet been officially announced. However, it is expected that Huawei will try to bring these devices to the global market as well.
