Exactly one month ago today, sWe first heard of the Huawei Mate XT, although not yet by name. It was when Richard Yu, president of the company, was seen on a passenger plane using a foldable device that, unlike those seen until now, had a screen with two folds. Of course, since there was no information on this until then, the most widespread opinion was that it had been an oversight on the part of the executive. An opinion that changed, of course, when only 11 days later Yu was seen again with the double foldable.
This second sighting It made us suspect that it wouldn’t take long for us to have official news. about the device and, indeed, just released this September, Huawei announced an event, scheduled for today, which although it was not explicit in this regard, included in the invitation some element that did suppose an important clue. And to finish confirming that finally today we would see the Huawei Mate XT, a day after the announcement was published the name of the device was leaked. Black and in a bottle, smartphone with double fold.
So it has been, just as we expected, The Huawei Mate XT is now official Although, at least initially, it will only debut in the brand’s local market, that is, in China. And this move is understandable, since we are talking about a truly innovative device, with a fairly high price (19,999 yuan, around 2,540 euros at the exchange rate, in its most basic configuration) and that, therefore, seems advisable to initially evaluate it in a single market, to check the interest it arouses and the sales volume, instead of trying to debut in more markets, with the risks that this would entail.
Obviously, the most notable thing about this Huawei Mate XT is its screen, 10.2 inch LTPO OLED and it has two hinges, which allow you to display one third, two thirds or the whole screen, depending on your needs at any given time. These are the three modes with their respective screen resolutions:
- One third: 2,232 x 1,008 points.
- Two thirds: 2,223 x 2,048 points.
- Full screen: 2,232 x 3,184 pixels.
Once inside, we find a SoC Kirin 9010 5Gaccompanied by some generous 16 gigabytes de RAM y up to one terabyte of storage capacity. And taking advantage of its particular form factor and design, Huawei has made sure that it can offer a good level of autonomy, for which it relies on its battery 5.600 miliamperios with 66 watt fast charging.
Obviously, we are dealing with a premium device, designed for a very specific user profile. However, we can be very clear that the rest of the industry is paying close attention to the market evolution of this Huawei Mate XT and that, if it becomes a success, could mark the starting point of more devices with these particular characteristics.
