OR Huawei has just released its new Mate 70 series of devices, its new Huawei Watch Ultimate Design smartwatch, the foldable Mate X6 and the new MatePad Pro 13.2, a premium tablet that has a large screen and better performance compared to the previous model.

The MatePad Pro 13.2 features a massive 13.2-inch OLED display, offering 1,000 nits of brightness and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. With a 94% screen-to-body ratio, the bezels are quite thin, promising an immersive viewing experience.

There are two versions of the tablet available, a standard model with a glossy finish and a PaperMatte Edition, which offers a textured, anti-glare surface for those who want a more paper-like touch.

You can choose from three colors for the tablet namely White, Gold and Inkstone Black.

The new MatePad Pro 13.2 weighs 580 grams and is only 5.5 millimeters thick. It is equipped with six speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for easy unlocking. When it comes to cameras, tablets aren’t exactly known for their prowess, and this is no exception. On the back, there’s a 13MP primary camera along with an 8MP ultrawide. For selfies and video calls, the front camera is a 16 MP fixed focus sensor.

The MatePad Pro 13.2 comes with the 3rd generation M-Pencil, which promises ultra-low latency and high precision for all your tasks. Whether you’re editing documents, drawing, annotating or making video calls, this tablet can deliver.

In terms of this year’s much talked about artificial intelligence, HarmonyOS NEXT brings the smart assistant Xiaoyi powered by the big model Pangu. It supports natural conversations and helps with a range of tasks, and you can even combine typed and handwritten notes while AI works on proofreading and summarizing.

Huawei is keeping the details of the chip under wraps, but promises solid performance and seamless multitasking thanks to a massive 12GB or 16GB of RAM. When it comes to storage, you have three options to choose from: 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB.

The MatePad Pro 13.2 has a dual 5050 mAh battery, giving it a total of 10100 mAh for long-term use. The company claims that with Huawei’s 100W Turbo Charging, you can get an 85% charge in just 40 minutes and a full charge in just 55 minutes.

In terms of connectivity, the MatePad Pro 13.2 offers Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and dual satellite communication, ensuring a stable connection even in the most remote locations. But the satellite communication will likely be only for China.

The MatePad Pro 13.2 is currently only available in China, priced from 5,199 yuan (about $719). The price will vary depending on the storage option and version you choose.

Huawei is expected to launch it globally soon, possibly next month or early 2025 but it will definitely be priced higher outside of China.
