However, the defending champions reversed, and in the end the Spanish team could celebrate a 5-2 victory. Real Madrid’s success was not the only Spanish victory in the Champions League on Tuesday night: Girona scored their first points in the series with a 2-0 victory over Slovan Bratislava. The Catalans’ Hungarian player, twenty-year-old Antal Yaakobishvili, could watch the match from the bench.
Yaakobishvili made his debut for Girona in the King’s Cup and La Liga in January, but he has not been in the starting lineup so far this season. The Champions League, however, brought about the change, the 2-0 success against Slovan was watched from the bench by the Hungarian football player, who could celebrate a historic success together with his teammates, since Girona had not even scored a point in the elite series before.
