In this, of course, we can only count on the cooperation of the Slovak partners

he added. Peter Ziga pointed out: the intense relations between the two countries stem from the fact that they have common interests. During the meeting, some common, bilateral issues were also touched upon, such as the cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries. The president of the Slovak parliament announced that he had informed László Kövér that

the Slovakian-Hungarian friendship section was established in the Slovak parliament last month.

Peter Ziga said: they touched on their cooperation opportunities at the European level, as well as the V4 cooperation. Cooperation in the field of energy was discussed, as the contract on gas transit transport between Russia and Ukraine expires on January 1, 2025 – the politician pointed out, and then emphasized: the transit networks of the two countries are connected, and if the gas transport from Russia should stop, they can involve alternative gas transport branches in order to ensure that the security of supply is not compromised. Peter Ziga thanked László Kövér for his help in protecting Slovakian airspace, because until the end of 2025, Slovak airspace will be protected by Czech and Hungarian fighter jets. According to the assessment of the President of the Slovak National Council, the meeting took place in an extremely open and honest atmosphere.
