Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced that it has been carrying out activities of sharing and coexistence by extending a helping hand to its neighbors in the local community ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

On the 10th, Hyundai Construction held a Chuseok senior citizen event for 500 senior citizens living in Jongno-gu at the Christian Association Hall in Yeonji-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. This event was held in cooperation with Jongno-gu Office and Jongno Community Welfare Center. The 40 Hyundai Construction employees who attended the event as volunteers took on various roles, from preparing the event to serving food and handing out souvenirs.

This volunteer activity is part of a project to support vulnerable groups that Hyundai Construction has been conducting since 2011 in partnership with Jongno-gu, where its headquarters are located. Every month, the company provides food and healthy meals to low-income households in Changsin-dong and Sungin-dong, Jongno-gu, and last year alone, it provided warmth to a total of 1,374 households.

In addition, Hyundai Construction has been conducting a volunteer activity of making side dishes for the vulnerable class at the Seoul Senior Welfare Center located near the headquarters building since the 6th. This program is a social contribution activity in which people learn to cook under the guidance of an instructor and make side dishes together to support the health of the vulnerable elderly class in the local community.

It will be held every other Wednesday and Friday until November of this year, with 10 employees participating per session. The side dishes made by employees will be delivered to single-person households and low-income seniors in the local community.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Engineering & Construction was recognized for its efforts and selected as the highest grade in the ‘2023 Community Contribution Recognition System’ jointly hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Council for Social Welfare for its contribution to solving community problems.
