Hyundai has announced two recalls affecting nearly 68,000 of its cars in the US. The first recall involves 54,647 Genesis G70, Hyundai Kona N, Veloster N and Elantra N models built between May 2, 2018 and November 23, 2023, because they may have a faulty fuel control valve in the high-pressure fuel pump.
This valve could allow too much fuel to enter, causing the engine to run on too rich a mixture, resulting in a loss of power. In the recalled cars, Hyundai will replace the fuel pump with a new one.
The second recall concerns 12,349 2024 Santa Fes because a software error could cause them to move even though the automatic transmission is in Park. The problem is fixed by installing new software.
