A year later, it is impossible not to remember those emotional snapshots that Miguel Ángel Muñoz gave to his followers with his ‘tata’, the most special person in his life. The actor used to share content with his great-great-aunt, Luisa Cantero Sánchez. However, on July 20, 2023, the woman passed away at the age of 98, leaving a deep void in the actor that, a year later, remains irreparable. He made this known through an emotional letter shared on social media.
‘La tata’ acted as father, mother, tutor and grandmother to the actor, since he grew up without his paternal figures. For 40 years, the woman was by his side both in good and bad times. And that is why now, a year after saying goodbye to her, Miguel Ángel has wanted to make public a letter in which he addresses the most special person in his life.
“A year ago I accompanied you on the long journey you were about to undertake, in the same way that you accompanied your mother Carmen. In her house, calm, with much peace, love and holding her hand until her last breath. You were 40 years old. So was I,” the actor began by saying in his emotional message.
“You dedicated yourself to caring for other people. Today I close my eyes and look back at our life together and I feel tremendously grateful and proud of what we experienced. And despite the pain I feel for not being able to hug you, smell you, kiss you… my heart continues to fill with love that heals a little bit,” he continued, happy to be able to have a great number of memories with her.
Although it is often said that time heals everything, Muñoz is sure that this grief will be with him forever. “This grief that I am still immersed in and that I feel will be with me for the rest of my life… I know that at some point in my life I will be able to deal with it as you did with your mother, my great-grandmother Aurelia and the rest of the people who left before you,” he said. “With much love, and celebrating in life all the good times lived and also celebrating the day that they went to rest in peace, as you said,” he said.
“Today, Doña Luisina Cantero, I also celebrate you because perhaps the most beautiful thing I have been able to experience at your side was this day when we gave each other our last hug. I will always love you Tata. And I know that we will hug each other again when it is my turn to go to rest with you,” the actor concluded, in emotional words that show the great love he felt for her.
His words have touched many of his followers, who have not been able to avoid sending him tokens of affection. “Thank you for sharing with us this very endearing part of your life and your wonderful relationship with your ‘Tata’. You made it ours too. What a sublime love yours have, it will last forever,” said one follower. “I can only embrace your pain, Miguel Ángel. Now we have to live a happy life so that they are happy for us from heaven here,” said another user.
