Elisabetta Belloni communicated to Giorgia Meloni her decision to leave the leadership of the Secret Services ahead of the natural expiration of the mandate, scheduled for May: “I’m leaving on January 15th, I have no other roles, I’m just leaving.”

Who will replace Belloni, already head of the Farnesina crisis unit, general director for development cooperation and then general secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Paolo Gentiloni, it is not yet known: among the names for the leadership of the Dis, that of Bruno Valensisformer deputy at DIS and now director of AISI (Information and Internal Security Agency).
