I sat with my back to the wall in front of the stage, and during the concert I traveled in the universe for an hour and a half

For 17 years, Adrian Boranescu he is a fan of the band Omul cu Sobolani, the starting point being a concert from Lăptăria lui Enache, where he felt transported to another universe. In the meantime, he became the number 1 fan and even if there are no more fanclubs, he meets the other fans live at the concerts, before and after. He flies with the band to concerts, has band tattoos, and his favorite line is Totul e la tine.

“Meanwhile, I went from being a fan to becoming friends with the band members, having all kinds of activities together. I like it the most when the band has a tour in the cities of the country, I often go with the boys in the van of the band”, says Adrian.

For several years, Adrian Boranescu he started DJ-ing and can be seen and heard in clubs at the desk, with a mix of alternative, raggae, electro and OCS, but also as a guest of Dan Amariei’s show from Radio Guerrilla – Piticu Dejun. His story, below.

A short introduction, for those who have never heard of Borănescu in their life

In short, I’m a crowd person who sometimes likes to be in the spotlight.

How did your Rat Man adventure begin?

My adventure with the “Rat Man” began on the evening of December 8, 2007, at Enache’s Dairy, when I first went to the concert of the band that would become my favorite band after that evening.

For those who have not been to Enache’s Dairy, the place was “narrow and long”, so to speak, the distance from the stage to the front wall was 2-3 meters.

The people doing the pogo would fall onto the stage at a time, the stage being 20 centimeters high from the floor. 🙂

That night, I sat with my back against the wall in front of the stage, and during the concert I traveled the universe for an hour and a half, as long as the concert lasted.

It was clear to me that a connection was made, after that night I told myself that I had to support this band, and I have been doing that for almost 17 years.

Fan no. 1 of a band

Meanwhile, I went from being a fan to becoming friends with the band members, having all kinds of activities together.

I like it the most when the band is on tour in the cities of the country, I often go with the boys in the van of the band.

Another privilege was collaborating with Dan on the show “Piticu Dejun”, on Radio Guerrilla. In this way, I thank them once again for welcoming me to their side. Special thanks to Nucu, he knows why…

How do you see the band, the stage, the music, from your perspective

I think the band matured in every way with the release of the album “Marea Căutare” (2013), but they always had a message to convey, most of the time touching sensitive points.

Not for nothing has it remained one of the relevant alternative rock bands in our country, since 1997.

Where fans gather now

Now fans gather before the concert, being happy to say goodbye, sitting for stories over a glass of different types of liquor. It’s nice to see fans of your favorite band again, creating friendships, having the same passion.

Top 3 favorite tracks from … OCS

It’s hard for me to make a top 3 favorite OCS songs, but I’ll try to make a top 5.

  1. Who is to blame?
  2. The rebellious child
  3. Xcelent
  4. In the light
  5. Bubble blower

The story of tattoos

In 2014 (wow, it’s been 10 years) on Guerrilla Logout (Radio Guerrilla), a contest was announced in collaboration with Old Bastards Tattoo.

There were three prizes up for grabs consisting of three tattoos, all you had to do was say what you would like to get tattooed related to your favorite band, a lyric, an album cover or in my case, the band’s logo.

After a few weeks I was contacted by Irina Petrovici, the producer of the show, telling me that I had won one of the prizes.

Then I found out that the prize was two hours of tattooing, but when I got to the salon I was told that the tattoo I wanted was for four hours, so I paid the difference and the madness began.

I was happy because Mihnea and Radu from OCS came to support me at the salon.

A different experience with OCS or a concert you will never forget

A different incident, oook.. :))))

There was a concert at the Wings club, and at one point, as I was sitting in the front row, I gently tugged on Dan’s pants, falling into his veins, remaining in his boxers…

You can find the continuation of the story in the documentary “OCS – 25 years”.

There are many concerts that I will never forget, but the following concerts come to mind most often:
the first concert I attended – Enache’s Dairy (08-12-2007)
release of the album “Marea Căutare” – Collective (11-10-2013)
and of course, the two concerts in London, where we flew together (literally, but also figuratively) – 12-10-2014 and 01-10-2022.

There is even a video shot in London, “Soap Bubbles” (2014).

Favorite verse from them

“Everything is up to you”

Getting started in DJing

Things are moving, people feel good and have fun on the music they play. I got compliments and made friends after nights of playing music. The music they play is a melange of alternative rock, hip-hop, reggae and electronica.

Of course, I also put OCS. 😀

Where we can see you at the desk

I am in discussions with several restaurants, I will announce when everything is settled.

I haven’t played pogo since I was young, my physique doesn’t help either, but I’ll be roaring at the event Omul cu Sobolani / single release “Harababura”, on October 25, at the Doors Club (Constanța).

Other favorite bands

This year I listened to tracks from Fred Again.., Fontaines DC, Squid, IDLES, Sleaford Mods on repeat, and recently I listened to the new album DOC -TOT.

Be well and do well.
