Washington Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery praised the performance of forward Alexander Ovechkin after returning to the ice.
“I thought he was pretty good. He needs time. I know we all want him to start playing like he did in Utah right away, but he missed a lot of time and needs to get some practice in to get back into shape. I think he was good today, played in the situations we needed him in,” Carbery said after the match.

Thus, he reduced the gap to 25 goals from Wayne Gretzky on the list of the best snipers in the NHL regular season of all time.
The meeting in Toronto at the Scowshabank Arena stadium ended with a score of 5:2 in favor of the capital club.
Earlier, Podkolzin’s pass did not save Edmonton from defeat in the match with Los Angeles.
