Cristela Georgescu, the wife of Călin Georgescu, made a statement in a live video broadcast on Tuesday evening, in which she talked about the birth of their two boys. She mentioned that they were born by caesarean section and added that from her personal experience she noticed “the difference” between children born by caesarean section and those born naturally.
The comment sparked some controversy, being interpreted as a generalization about the differences between the two types of birth, which may not be supported by clear scientific evidence. Such statements may also raise questions about the impact that individual experiences have on general perceptions of childbirth.
“He saw me. I went through two cesarean sections. How could they ban caesarean section? These things are taken out of context. When he said that the divine thread breaks, please read the book of the doctor Michel Odent which is called “Caesarian” and you will understand.
We have seen the difference between children born by caesarean section and children born gently, naturally, naturally. We are not talking about strictly necessary caesarean sections. And then we wanted very much… How could we impose restrictions when we didn’t tell our children anything mandatory?”, he said the wife of Călin Georgescu.
This statement by Călin Georgescu’s wife comes after he stated in an interview in May that cesarean birth is “a tragedy”, because “the divine thread breaks”.
“If the future mother is manipulated in such a way that you can only give birth by caesarean section, as more than 90% give birth today in Romania, it is a tragedy. Do you know why? Because the divine thread breaks. Moreover, you consider and accept that more than 90% are sick”, stated Călin Georgescu.
